Due to entering final stages of management transition, the Jackson Zoo is TEMPORARILY CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC as of October 1, 2019. During this public hiatus, zoo animal care schedules and maintenance projects continue behind the gates as repairs and inspections for USDA licensing commence. Initial estimates are a public closure of 60 days or longer.
Animal lovers and zoo fans can rest assured that the animals are unaware of any changes, as their daily schedules remain the same.
The community can follow our progress on our Facebook and Instagram pages (@JacksonZoo) and by signing up for e-blasts below. We look forward to seeing everyone as soon as possible!
All memberships, comp passes, and promotional vouchers are frozen, and will be honored upon our re-open.
We have made every effort to notify the public of this closure, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
The Jackson Zoo will be celebrating it’s Centennial in 2020! Currently we care for more than 350 animals representing over 200 species from exotic locales all over the globe, working with other accredited zoos and wildlife organizations to protect them for generations to come. Since 1919, the Jackson Zoo has been helping families spend quality time together, creating lifelong memories, and bringing the community together in the outdoors to appreciate wildlife and the environment we all share.
