Donations

A donation to the Jackson Zoo not only supports animal care, but educational programming and conservation efforts as well. Your contribution is important because, quite honestly, the Zoo can not be THE zoo for Mississippi without it. We consistently rank as one of the most visited attractions in the state, and are the only AZA accredited zoo in Mississippi. Our zoo budget is over two million a year; and admission fees can only cover sixty-five percent of these expenses. However, we are committed to keeping our admission prices affordable to make the zoo available to all Mississippians.

PELICAN FUND

Donate to the Jackson ZooThe Jackson Zoo is working with other AZA (American Zoo and Aquarium Association) zoos as a holding site for those birds which are rescued from the oil spill and found to have injuries which render them un-releasable to the wild. The Jackson Zoo has held up to to 19 injured pelicans. Select Jackson Zoo staff are qualified wildlife paraprofessionals and continue to travel to the site weekly in Theodore, AL to assist with the monumental task of saving and cleaning many birds from the oil spill. How can you help? Donate to the zoo's pelican/fish fund (pelicans can eat up to 60 fish a day!) Visit the zoo and show your support. Thanks especially to National Aviary in Pittsburg and North Carolina Zoological Society for donations toward fish purchase!
