Stimulate your students with a unique trip out to see the wild world at the Jackson Zoo. Meet over 250 fantastic species of animals with an amazing learning experience that your students won’t soon forget. Nothing is more exciting than a trip to the zoo! share this amazing experience with your students as a great way to show real world examples of abstract concepts.

School Field Trip

There are so any fun things to see and do at the Jackson Zoo, your students will not even realize how much they are learning.  All you need to know about field trips are as simple as ABC.

Affordable Admission Beyond the average field trip Convenient Registration 
$3.50 student admission
1 FREE adult chaperone for every 10 students
$3.50 for additional registered adults
Bus Drivers are always FREEWith the affordable prices you can do more!

  • Add a train or carousel ride for $2 per rider
  • Lunch: Catering available from the zoo, Newks, or McDonalds

Important Notice- the train and carousel will not run from November to March.

Please note that the train and carousel are very popular, so give your group plenty of time to ride. No refunds given for unused tickets.

Field Trip Registration

The Fine Print

  • Programs are available Monday-Saturday.
  • Programs are booked on a first come, first serve basis.
  • Pre-registration is required
  • All programs must be booked at least 2 weeks in advance of your field trip.
  • In the event of a cancellation made by your organization less than one week before the scheduled program date, a $25 per program cancellation fee will be retained by the Jackson Zoo.

Animal Programs

 

We offer two options for educational programs while you are at the Zoo. 10-minute Wild Meet and Greet and a 30-minute Wild Classroom. During both of these programs you will meet with some of the animals here at the zoo.

 

Wild Meet and Greet

 

MEET ONE OF OUR EDUCATION ANIMALS

Spend 10 minutes with a zoo educator to learn more about one of our Mississippi exhibit animals and have a meet and greet with an education animal.

 

 

 

Wild Classroom

 

MAKE THEIR TRIP A FULL EXPERIENCE WITH AN ANIMAL PROGRAM

Wild Classrooms are a great way to have your students meet and interact with our zoo animal ambassadors. These 30-minute, standards-based lessons, bring science to life. Topics available for kindergarten through high school.

 

 

Zoo Activities for your Class

 

The Zoo Connections Curriculum offers activities for teachers to do with their students before, during, and after a trip to the Jackson Zoo. Every activity helps you reach a state science standard.
